Families are required to attend an Enrollment Information Meeting where they will learn about our unique program and have an opportunity to ask questions and tour the building. If your student is selected through the lottery process, we will reach out with links to registration forms. You will be connected with an Education Specialist who will help you get signed up for classes and order your home study curriculum.
Alliance Charter Academy is a unique homeschool hybrid program. We are your homeschooling partner. It is important to understand our program in order to determine if it is a good fit for your family. Please visit our About Page for further details and a link to the upcoming Enrollment Information Meeting.
Anyone interested in enrolling at Alliance Charter Academy is required to attend an Enrollment Information Meeting where you will learn more and have an opportunity to ask your questions.
Lotteries are typically conducted two to three weeks after each Enrollment Information Meeting. You can check your lottery number by emailing contact@aca.k12.or.us
We maintain a waitlist. If your lottery number is drawn and we are at enrollment capacity, your student will be added to the waitlist.
Alliance Charter Academy brings new students on board throughout the school year. We will notify families on the waitlist as soon as openings occur.
Each student is required to meet with their Education Specialist (ES) for one hour each week. Students will bring their week's schoolwork with them to the meeting. Students in grades K-8 will be studying a minimum of six courses per year. Students in grades 9-12 will accumulate credits toward graduation at the rate of 6.5 credits per year for a total of 26 credits for a diploma.
Alliance Charter Academy is a homeschool hybrid model. Parents will act as Learning Guides for their student(s). Our Educational Specialists help parents plan learning strategies to meet the goals for their children.
Parents are expected to actively support their students' Personalized Learning Plan by being in close contact with the ES, making sure home studies and class homework is completed on time. For older students, parents must track their student's progress regularly through Parent Vue.
If enrolling in on-site classes, parents of Kindergarten-3rd grade students are required to be with their child in class. Parents of 4th and 5th-grade students are not required to be in classes, but must remain on the Alliance Charter Academy campus during classes.
Older students may be on-site without adult supervision only if they are enrolled in and attending a class. Students who are not enrolled in a class are not permitted to be on campus without an adult present.
Alliance Charter Academy is an open campus, and student monitoring is the responsibility of parents.
Each student at Alliance Charter Academy is assigned an Education Specialist who will meet with the parent and student weekly. The ES assists with course requests, curriculum purchases, educational guidance, assessments, and homework. The student and ES relationship is valuable and makes Alliance Charter Academy a unique program!
Allotments can be used for onsite classes and/or curriculum (non-faith-based), and a designated portion can be used on vendors and memberships. Allotment funds are used to directly support a student's Personalized Learning Plan (PLP). Education Specialists will help with class enrollment and curriculum ordering.
To enroll a student outside of a class' stated grade range, a signature from the class teacher is required.
Students have two weeks at the beginning of each semester to add and drop classes. Classes can be dropped after the two weeks, but no refunds will be issued. The Education Specialist facilitates add/drop requests.
Alliance Charter Academy values our volunteers very highly, and contributing to the community is part of our warm culture. While volunteering is not required, it is very much appreciated!
Visit our staff page for individual email links.
Generally, core subject classes have required homework. Elective classes generally have minimum homework requirements. Music classes have varying expectations for practice time. No class meets more than twice a week. As a result, the balance of core class hours must be completed as home studies.

- Siblings of Current Students
- New Students
- Students residing within the Oregon City School District receive priority
- Students residing outside of Oregon City are invited in when no OC students remain on the list
Students enrolled in an Oregon charter school have the right to participate in extracurriculars in their home district. This includes sports at the 9-12 grade levels and before & after school activities for students grades K-8. Contact your resident district to connect with their programs.
