Director's Letter September 26, 2025
Hello ACA Community,
It’s that time of year when the ACA calendar starts to get full, Full, FULL! I hope you find time to check out all the happenings and enjoy what’s offered. We’re fortunate to have staff and parents who enjoy planning events and sharing cool opportunities. The Great ShakeOut
On Thursday, October 16th, ACA will take part in the national earthquake preparedness day, known as The Great ShakeOut. We will conduct an earthquake drill at 2 pm, followed by an evacuation to the field. We will then move into a test of our reunification drill by walking three blocks to Park Place Church, 13933 Gain Street, and returning to school. We hope that everyone in the building at that time will participate. More details will be coming soon.
Coffee with the Directors
Monday, September 29 is National Coffee Day. Meg and I invite parents and interested adults to join us for coffee, pastries, and conversation on all things ACA from 9:00-10:00. Mark your calendars and RSVP HERE to let us know if you are able to attend!
Student Representative
The ACA Board of Trustees is looking for student representatives to join monthly board meetings. These meetings are held at 6:00pm on the second Wednesday of the month. As the student rep, your task will be to share summaries of school events and student perspectives with board members while learning about how a school board works. If interested, submit this FORM through your ES.
Gentle Rule Reminder
Remember that ACA has community expectations regarding adult presence and supervision of students. Below are the requirements by grade level. Please remember that Learning Guides are responsible for supervising their children on the playground as well.
- K-3: Learning Guide in class.
- 4-5: Learning Guide on campus.
- 6-12: Independent if in good standing; parents encouraged to attend two classes per term. Administration may require parent presence for behavioral issues.
Volunteer Spotlight
ACA Dad Bryan Wright has been quietly taking on many helpful tasks around the school. He is generous with his time and talents…setting a wonderful example! Thank you, Bryan, for all that you do!
Coming Attractions!
Reserve your tickets for CTY’s musical version of “Winnie the Pooh”! Tickets are $10 and are available in the ACA office 9/29 - 10/2. Also, there will be an ACA Meet-Up at Liepold Pumpkin Patch on Friday, October 24. Admission is $12 CASH at the front gate of the Farm. If you plan to join us, please RSVP at this link.
From the World’s Greatest PTO
**The PTO Food Corner opens 9/29! Which also happens to be National Coffee Day, which we’ll have in abundance & for freeeeee!
-Please help us fill some food corner shifts so we can be open as much as possible during the school day. Schedule is available here Please note: changes have been made to the items we have for sale. Please see the attached menu
-Oregon Bird Man Assembly 10/9 @ 11am. Gather your families and join together in the gym for an up close animal opportunity you don’t want to miss! Funds raised by the PTO are proudly used to bring the Oregon Bird Man to ACA for this experience.
