I hope you had a chance to enjoy PTO’s Holiday Bazaar last weekend. There was live music, yummy food, and vendors, including a record-breaking number of student vendors. There were so many amazing items…our students are VERY talented! Special appreciation to Mrs. Johnson, our PTO, and the many volunteers who put on ACA’s Holiday Bazaar. This was no small task, and involved many hours of organization, communication, set-up and clean-up. Helpers transformed the school into a festive shopping space. Thank you all, and remember to drop your hours into the Volunteer Time Log!
Guess what’s been happening at ACA this week? Our favorite custodian, Sandy, and a crew from the District Facilities team have stripped, sanded, and put 5 coats of nice, shiny wax down on our gym floor. It looks beautiful! Sandy said, “This is my Christmas gift to the kids!” Thank you Sandy and team!
I have a very important request of every member of our community…staff, students, and parents. ACA has an opportunity to apply for nearly $400,000 in state grants for the upcoming biennium. These include the Early Literacy Grant, Student Investment Account, and High School Success Grants. As part of the application process, we are required to gather A LOT of stakeholder input for our ‘Needs Assessment’. These anonymous surveys will be asking staff, parents, and students to share what’s working well at ACA, and what could be improved. Most questions are multiple choice with some optional written sections. If you are an ACA staff member, please complete this survey Staff Community Engagement Survey Parents, students, and interested community members can fill out this survey Community Engagement Survey Again, a lot of money is at stake, high participation is a requirement, and this is me low-key begging for your participation😉. The surveys are open until January 20th and results will be discussed at upcoming Board meetings. Thank you!!
Alliance Charter Academy Board of Trustees has begun a Strategic Planning process to develop future goals for our school. The Board is attempting to forecast changes and trends that may affect ACA and the students/families we serve. This survey is completely optional and is anonymous. Community input will be used at upcoming Board meetings to create long term goals for ACA. This survey will be open until January 20th. If you only have time for one survey, please complete the above grant application surveys as they are most critical for funding. If you are willing, this Strategic Planning Survey will help the Board’s longer term strategic planning efforts.
As 2024 draws to a close, keep ACA in mind when planning your year-end, tax deductible donations. As a charter school, ACA is a 501c3 non-profit organization. Gentle Rule Reminder: The semester ends in January. Please check your student’s grades on ParentVue. Winter Break might be a good time for students to catch up and get organized for a great finish to semester one.
